Dr. Katherine Chung

Dr. Katherine Chung, ND, RAc is a naturopathic physician, registered acupuncturist, author, and international educator who has a passion for learning, educating, and optimizing her patients physical and mental health to achieve their health goals. She realized early on that a holistic approach to medicine is required to achieve effective, sustainable changes.

In treatment, Dr. Katherine focuses on her patient’s needs first. She listens to what their health goals are and a multifaceted approach to achieve those goals. She leans on acupuncture/injection therapy, nutrition/supplementation, and soft tissue/chiropractic adjustments for her treatment approach. Although Dr. Katherine has a general practice, she has a special focus on digestive health, mental health, aesthetic medicine, and pain management. 

Dr. Katherine has extra certification in aesthetic medicine (botox and fillers), IV therapy, prescriptive authority, Balance style acupuncture, and neural therapy. She is also an avid educator – teaching naturopathic medical students and acupuncture students in anatomy, physiology, and chiropractic adjustments. She also teaches internationally at chiropractic seminars on optimizing adjustment techniques for small practitioners. Dr. Katherine is also a contributing author to several text books including joint mobilization, orthopedic conditions, and physical medicine. 

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Katherine is an avid foodie and loves travelling locally/internationally to experience all types of cuisines. She enjoys spending time outdoors either hiking/beach walks with her miniature dachshund, golfing, or simply sitting and people watching.

Dr. Katherine currently teaches naturopathic manipulation, physical medicine, acupuncture, and clinical education at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and Central College. She also travels throughout North America training chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, and other health care professionals in adjusting techniques for smaller practitioners and clinical needling technique for pain.
